Whenever we visit the historical city (dating back the Madjapajit Empire, before the Philippines was even called as it is), we are most often lured to enjoy the bountiful catch of crabs, shrimps and prawns, as well as all other seafood. And why not? Butuan City boasts of two sources of said bountiful harvest year-round. People can get them from Masao and Lumbocan or through retailers at Langihan or the city’s market or retailers at Libertad.

After our beach escapade Sunday last week, we went to buy crabs, prawns and shrimps at Libertad. And at that certain retailer, we saw a crab that weighs 2 kilos…


I couldn’t quite imagine how to indulge in such fat crab without ever getting a heart attack.. I mean, the crabs we got were fat enough that we had to watch how much we can finish, otherwise we’d be calling the doctor as late as 9 PM, hahaha…
