Have you ever been to Butuan City? One of the distinct landmarks is St. Joseph Parish, now St. Joseph Cathedral in the heart of Butuan City, just across Father Saturnino Urius University. I love this church as it brings back memories of my childhood. When I was young, we go to church here since it is just walking distance from my grandparent’s house. I love the choir which renders service during the third mass, the English Mass on Sundays. There was even one time, the choir was joined by a guy who plays french horns and a lady who filled us with music with her flute. It was like a concert of some sort during the mass.

Anyway, my sister and I traveled to Butuan City last January, and we were able to visit the church once more. I love how the interiors look now. It’s so nice..

During our visit, the choir sang beautifully. What amazes me is that, the church is both aesthetically set, as well as technologically endowed. Flat screens everywhere so people from the farthest end can still see the goings on at the altar.
